Thomas and Catherine McCartney

Thomas McCartney was born in Magherafelt, County Antrim, Ireland, in Wednesday, 17 December 1828, to Henry McCartney and Sarah O'Neil. He married Catherine Melvin at Eastwood, Scotland, on Sunday, 12 November 1858. Catherine was born in Ireland in 1834. Thomas and Catherine had three children:

• Catherine, born in Eastwood Parish, Scotland, in 1859. She died the same year.
• Margaret, born in 1860 in Scotland.
• Henry, born in 1862 in Scotland.

Catherine died on Wednesday, 5 March 1862, in Scotland.

After Catherine's death, Thomas remarried. His new wife was Mary McEwen. They were married in Eastwood on 21 November 1864. Mary's parents were Edward McEwen and Ann Johnston of Ireland. Thomas and Mary had two children:

• Thomas, born 21 January 1866 in Eastwood.
• Mary Ann, born 15 December 1867, in Eastwood.

Thomas died in Eastwood on 12 November 1882.

His son, Thomas, married Catherine Donachie in Eastweood on 14 April 1891. They had four children:

• Thomas, born 17 March 1892.
• James, born on 8 June 1894.
• William, born on 2 June 1898.
• Hugh, born on 27 March 1900.

Thomas died on Sunday, 23 February 1902.
