James McCartney was born in Portadown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland, 17 August 1939. James married a lady named Ellen Laura (last name unknown) who was born in Arnprior, Onterio, Canada. They had two sons, John, himself and his brother, James Robert, both born in Geulph, Onterio, Canada.
