Cool Tool Tips

The tool tips that appear on mouse-over in the navgation are enabled by a JavaScript that was originally created by Brian Gosselin of ScriptAsylum.com. It has been updated and modified by Dennis Gaskill and provided by Dennis through his website, BoogieJack.com. It is used on this site with permission.

Graphics and Photographs

The background graphic, a celtic knot, used on all pages of this site is from Absolute Web Graphics Archive, part of GRSites with permission. They had offered a wide variety of free web graphics, But the Archives section is no longer available. We thank them for their generosity. The celtic knot was titled dgren006.jpg.

The two ship photographs used in the webmaster's family pages, the Columbia and the Lusitania, were purchased from The Ellis Island Foundation. We thank them for maintaining so much great genealogical data.

Photographs used on the webmaster's family pages are the property of the webmaster or members of his family. Other photographs used in the research queries are the property of the researchers who posted the queries and are used on this site with permission.

No use of any nature, whether electronic or printed, of the photographs, graphics or images on 'Journeys' shall be made either by copying or directly linking to them. No authorization to use or link to any of the photographs, graphics or images will be granted.


         


Left-pointing Arrow

The left-pointing arrow used on all award and biography pages as part of the link back to either the awards index or postings index was created by Wyoming Webdesigns They offer many free graphics on thier website. We thank them for their generosity.

New Window Script

The JavaScript that allows external links to open in new windows while still validating the code as XHTML Strict was developed by Kevin Yank and published in an article titled "New-Window Links in a Standards-Compliant World". The article was published on the web on 4 March 2003. The code was easily installed on this site, with permission from SitePoint, virtually unchanged.

Reasons for Hope

The graphic of the Reasons for Hope e-book was created by Dennis Gaskill, aka Boogie Jack. He has many informative web design tips and articles on his site Boogie Jack.com We thank him for his generosity and, especially, for his friendship.

Roll-over Script

The image rollover JavaScript on the colophon page is open source code developed by Chris Poole. The source code is featured on Dynamic Drive. It was used on this site as it was written.

Translator Script

The JavaScript which links to the BabelFish Translation site was graciously provided by Antonio Carlos Simões Vieira, owner of the Carpe Diem Award Program (now closed). It was used on this site with slight modifications. We thank Antonio Carlos for his help.

Visitor Counter

The visitor counter on the home page was developed and presented by Alma Poetica. Alma Poetica is owned by Lupercio Mundim. He makes his counters available for free to any who wish to use them. You may access his counters at Poetic Soul Counters.

Lupercio is the owner of several award programs and a wonderful poetry site. All of his sites may be viewed in English or Portugese.
